Mount the FusionReactor DMG file by entering the following command in a terminal window:

hdiutil mount FusionReactor_macos_6_0_0.dmg
/dev/disk1 /Volumes/FusionReactor

Start the console installation by executing the command:

/Volumes/FusionReactor/FusionReactor\ -c

After a short while you will see the following output:

This will install FusionReactor on your computer.
OK [o, Enter], Cancel [c]

Press Enter to proceed with the installation and read and accept the license agreement:

I accept the agreement
Yes [1], No [2]

Next enter the directory where FusionReactor should be installed:

Where should FusionReactor be installed?

Define the port for the built-in HTTP server:

The FusionReactor Administrator (FRAM) is used to manage individual
instances of FusionReactor, and provide the Enterprise Dashboard for the 
enterprise edition.
HTTP Port:

Define and validate the password for the FusionReactor Administrator user:

The Administrator password is required to log in to the FusionReactor
Administrator Manager to manage your FusionReactor instances.

Confirm the additional tasks the Setup should perform:

Select the additional tasks you would like the Setup to perform while
installing FusionReactor.
Start framd?
Yes [y, Enter], No [n]

Confirm the service configuration and completion of the installation:

The following service will be installed:
framd (listening on port 8087)
Continue with the installation?
OK [o, Enter], Cancel [c]

The Setup starts to extract and install files:

Extracting files ...

Please wait while Setup configures FusionReactor on your computer.
Configuring framd...
Configuring Desktop Shortcuts...
Configuring Shortcuts...
Installing framd...
Starting framd...
Installation completed

The installation will continue in the FusionReactor Instance Manager
(available on port 8087) which manages your FusionReactor instances.

You must use the Instance Manager to install or update your instances. You
may need to install a license beforehand.

Open http://localhost:8087/fusionreactor in your web browser and start
configuring instances.

Finishing installation ...

This completes the console installation of FusionReactor Administrator.

Reinstallling and Updating

You can also use the console installer to

  • Reinstall FusionReactor
  • Update a previous FusionReactor 4.x version

The console installer will guide you through these cases.


Start the console uninstallation by executing the following command inside the FusionReactor directory in a terminal window:

./FusionReactor\ -c

After a short while you will see the following output:

Are you sure you want to completely remove FusionReactor and all of its components?
Yes [y, Enter], No [n]

Press Enter to proceed with the uninstallation.

Uninstalling FusionReactor 6.0.0 ...
Finishing uninstallation ...

This completes the console uninstallation of FusionReactor Administrator.
