Introduction

This section is going to provide you with more information about the FusionReactor migration process and what steps you might need to follow in order to do that.

License Migration

If you want to migrate FusionReactor to a new server with different IP address, then you need to make sure the ALL the FusionReactor instances used in the old server have been successfully disabled. If you are using FRAM for installing your FusionReactor instances, please make sure that the FRAM instance has been disabled as well.

FusionReactor instance - License deactivation

In order to disable the license key of a FusionReactor instance, follow the steps described below.

  1. Access the FusionReactor instance.
  2. Navigate to the About page.
  3. Press the "Deactivate License" button.
  4. Make sure that the license has been successfully deactivated. If the license has been deactivated then you will be able to see the follow message in the About page,

FRAM instance - License deactivation

  1. Access the FRAM instance via a browser. Usually, the FRAM instance can be found on port 8087 (default configuration port).
  2. Navigate to the About page.
  3. Press the "Deactivate License" button.
  4. Make sure that the license key has been successfully deactivated.

Another way of checking that all the FusionReactor instances have been successfully disabled in the old server, is by logging to your FusionReactor Portal account. The FusionReactor Portal can be found here, FusionReactor Portal.

In your FusionReactor Portal account you will be able to see if any FusionReactor instances are still active under the IP address of the old server. In case some of the FusionReactor instances are still active, you have the ability to disable them manually by pressing the small arrow near the "More Info" button and clicking the "Disable" option. See screenshot below.

More information about the use of the FusionReactor Portal can be found in the link below.

If you are migrating a license key from FusionReactor 5.x version to FusionReactor 6.x version, the documentation listed below can guide you through that process.

Migrate Configuration Files

If you want to migrate the configuration files of FusionReactor to a new server, then the steps described below will guide you through that process. The section is divided in two sub sections. The first sub section will provide relevant steps taking into consideration that FRAM is used for installing FusionReactor instances while the second sub section will provide relevant steps for a manual installation of FusionReactor instances.

FRAM Use

  1. Navigate to the FusionReactor instance installation directory. By default, the directory can be found here, {FusionReactor Installation Directory}/instance/{Instance Name}.
  2. Copy your cmconfig directory and your conf directory into a temporary directory.
  3. Install FusionReactor on the new server.
  4. Install an application server instance via FRAM.
  5. Stop the application server instance via FRAM.
  6. Navigate to the directory: {FusionReactor Installation Directory}/instance/{Instance Name}.
  7. Remove the conf and cmconfig directories.
  8. Copy and paste your conf and cmconfig from the temporary directory.
  9. Access the conf directory and modify the  reactor.conf by removing the fruid, gruid and if it exists the serializer lines.
  10. Remove your ODLComponent.config file from the cmconfig directory. This can be found in the following directory: {instance name}/cmconfig/com/intergral/fusionreactor/plugin/internal.
  11. Restart the application server instance via FRAM.

More information about the process described above can be found in the links below.

Manual Installation

  1. Navigate to the FusionReactor instance installation directory. By default, the directory can be found here, {FusionReactor Installation Directory}/instance/{Instance Name}.
  2. Copy and paste the cmconfig and conf directory in the following directory of the NEW server:{FusionReactor Installation Directory}/instance/{Instance Name}.
  3. Install FusionReactor in the new server. This can be achieved by placing the -javaagent argument in the JVM arguments file of the application server. The -javaagent argument will look similar to the following: "-javaagent:<DIRECTORY-PATH>\FusionReactor\instance\<INSTANCE-NAME>\fusionreactor.jar=address=<PORT>".
  4. Navigate to the directory: {FusionReactor Installation Directory}/instance/{Instance Name}.
  5. Access the conf directory and modify the  reactor.conf by removing the fruid, gruid and if it exists the serializer lines.
  6. Remove your ODLComponent.config file from the cmconfig directory. This can be found in the following directory: {instance name}/cmconfig/com/intergral/fusionreactor/plugin/internal.
  7. Start the application server.

If you are using an Ultimate license key, you should add the Production Debug library in the JVM arguments file of your application server. More information can be found here, Install the Production Debugger library.

More information about the process described in the steps above, can be found in the link below.
